CVE-2025-68766

CVSS v2.0

5.2

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:P/I:C/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the Linux kernel’s irqchip/mchp-eic component where an out-of-bounds access can occur in the mchp eic domain alloc() function. Specifically, if the irq domain translate twocell() function sets the hwirq value to be greater than or equal to MCHP EIC NIRQ (which is 2), it can lead to an invalid memory access. The code includes checks for invalid values, but it fails to set an appropriate error code. As a result, the function incorrectly returns success instead of indicating an error.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
