Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.18.0+ #101
Description
The Linux kernel contains an issue within the iwlwifi module related to PTP (Precision Time Protocol) clock registration for MVM (Media and Wireless Multimedia) and MLD (Mac80211 with Linux Driver) implementations. A commit introduced a requirement for the
ptp clock info.settime64 function to be set during PTP clock registration. However, neither MVM nor MLD implementations provide this function, resulting in warnings during interface startup. The resolution involves creating a stub for settime64 that returns -EOPTNOTSUPP, suppressing the warning and allowing PTP clock registration to proceed.Recommendations
Update to Linux kernel version 6.18.0+ #101 or later.
