Description
A flaw exists in Squirrel that could lead to an out-of-bounds read. The issue is related to the
SQFuncState::PopTarget function within the src/squirrel/squirrel/sqfuncstate.cpp file. Manipulation of the target stack argument can trigger the flaw. The issue is exploitable on a local host and has been publicly disclosed. The project was notified but has not yet responded.Recommendations
Versions prior to 3.2 should be updated. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the
SQFuncState::PopTarget function until a patch is available.Exploit
