Description Discourse is an open source discussion platform. Prior to specific versions, moderators could export user Chat Direct Messages (DMs) via the CSV export endpoint. This was possible due to an overly permissive allowlist within the can export entity? method. The method permitted moderators to export any entity not explicitly blocked, rather than restricting exports to an explicit allowlist of permitted entities.

Recommendations Update Discourse to version 2025.12.2 or later. Update Discourse to version 2026.1.1 or later. Update Discourse to version 2026.2.0 or later.
