Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the memory management of the Snort 3 Detection Engine that may allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause the engine to restart. This issue stems from a logic error in memory management during Snort 3 SSL packet inspection. An attacker could exploit this by sending specially crafted SSL packets through an existing connection for parsing by the Snort 3 Detection Engine, potentially leading to a denial of service (DoS) condition due to the unexpected restart of the engine.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
