| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Everon (affected versions not specified)
Description
The software’s WebSocket endpoints do not have sufficient authentication, allowing attackers to impersonate charging stations and manipulate data sent to the backend. An unauthenticated attacker can connect to the OCPP WebSocket endpoint using a known or discovered charging station identifier and then issue or receive OCPP commands as a legitimate charger. This can lead to privilege escalation, unauthorized control of charging infrastructure, and corruption of charging network data. A recent incident resulted in a complete platform shutdown due to exploitation of critical authentication flaws. The affected API endpoint is the OCPP WebSocket endpoint. The vulnerable identifier used for impersonation is the charging station identifier.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
