CVE-2025-68810

None

No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.18.0-rc6-115d5de2eef3-next-kasan
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the KVM subsystem. Specifically, it fails to prevent disabling the KVM MEM GUEST MEMFD flag on a memslot that was initially created with a guest memfd binding. This can lead to a use-after-free condition due to KVM not unbinding from the guest memfd instance. The issue occurs because KVM prevents enabling KVM MEM GUEST MEMFD, but does not prevent clearing the flag. This can be triggered by attempts to modify the memslot configuration. The root cause is a missing check during memslot modification, allowing an invalid state to be established. A kernel crash was observed during testing, as indicated by the KASAN report.
Recommendations Update to a version newer than 6.18.0-rc6-115d5de2eef3-next-kasan.
