Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions AJS Footnotes plugin for WordPress versions prior to 1.0
Description The AJS Footnotes plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting. This is due to missing authorization and nonce verification on settings save, as well as insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. An unauthenticated attacker can update plugin settings and inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute when a user accesses the injected page. The vulnerable parameters are note list class and popup display effect in.
Recommendations Update the AJS Footnotes plugin to a version later than 1.0.
