CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to affinity reprogramming on ASP chips. This issue affects systems utilizing an older variant of the GSP chip, specifically the ASP chip, found in devices like HP 730 workstations. Attempting to reprogram affinity on these chips can lead to a system crash due to incorrect register locations. The issue is addressed by checking the system version (sversion) before attempting reprogramming, as reprogramming is unnecessary for single-CPU machines like the HP730.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
