Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 5.14.0-630.el9.x86 64+debug #1
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel's RDMA/irdma subsystem, specifically within the
irdma net event() function. The function could dereference an invalid memory location under certain conditions, potentially leading to a kernel crash. This issue occurs when processing network events and failing to validate the event type before accessing data through a pointer. The problem is mostly harmless but can trigger KASAN (Kernel Address Sanitizer) on debug kernels.Recommendations
Update to Linux kernel version 5.14.0-630.el9.x86 64+debug #1 or a later version to address this issue.
