Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw where the
aqc111 suspend function calls the PM variant of its write cmd routine, leading to a task hang during resume operations. Specifically, the issue occurs when rpm resume is called on the parent device, resulting in a wait for a status change that never happens, blocking another task holding the rtnl lock and locking up the networking stack. This was reported by syzbot as a "task hung in rpm resume".Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
