Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contained a flaw where a use-after-free condition could occur during controller registration failure in the SPI subsystem. Specifically, if per-CPU statistics allocation failed during controller registration, the driver resources were not properly deregistered from the driver core, leading to a use-after-free and potential unclocked register accesses.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
