Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
IP TOOLS version 2.50
Description
A local buffer overflow exists in the SNMP Scanner component. Local attackers can cause a denial of service and SEH (Structured Exception Handling) overwrite—a technique used to hijack the program's execution flow—by providing oversized input. This is achieved by pasting malicious data into the 'From Addr' and 'To Addr' fields and clicking the Start button, which crashes the application.
