No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the writeback mechanism where the system blocks sync for filesystems that cannot guarantee data persistence, such as fuse. This occurs because the system waits for flusher threads to finish initiating writeback, which can lead to a suspend-to-RAM hang. This hang is particularly prevalent when the fuse daemon is frozen (for example, by systemd freezing user session cgroups before kernel suspend) or if the daemon is buggy and cannot complete writeback, causing an unconditional wait on writeback to finish.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
