Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
In the mac80211 subsystem, the
ieee80211 tdls oper() function fails to verify if a station is a TDLS (Tunneled Direct Link Setup) station when NL80211 TDLS ENABLE LINK is called. The system only checks for the existence of the station, allowing the operation to proceed for non-TDLS stations. This results in unintended side effects, such as the modification of channel context and HT (High Throughput) protection, before the operation eventually fails. The issue is addressed by implementing a check for the sta->sta.tdls variable early in the ENABLE LINK case.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
