CVSS v3.1

5.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ggerve coding-standards-mcp (affected versions not specified)
Description A path traversal issue exists in the get style guide/get best practices() functions within the server.py file. Remote attackers can exploit this by manipulating the Language argument. Path traversal is a technique that allows an attacker to access files and directories that are stored outside the web root folder by manipulating variables that reference files with dot-dot-slash (../) sequences.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the Language argument in the get style guide/get best practices() functions to minimize the risk of exploitation.
