Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The
imx rproc elf find loaded rsc table() function may incorrectly report a loaded resource table when the current firmware does not provide one. This occurs because when the device tree contains a "rsc-table" entry, priv->rsc table is non-NULL, but rproc->table ptr is NULL if no resource table exists in the firmware. The function returns priv->rsc table, leading the remoteproc core to interpret it as a valid loaded resource table, which can trigger a crash when starting firmware without a resource table.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
