Description
An issue exists in the Linux kernel networking stack where the system incorrectly handles transmission (xmit) return codes for Generic Segmentation Offload (GSO) frames in environments without a Queueing Discipline (Qdisc). When a single segment within a GSO super frame is lost, the
tcp write xmit() function may interpret the return code of the final segment as a failure for the entire frame. This leads to a state where the sender does not advance the snd nxt sequence number, even if most segments were successfully transmitted. Consequently, if the receiver acknowledges data beyond snd nxt, the sender rejects the acknowledgment as TCP ACK UNSENT DATA, causing the connection to stall.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
