Description An issue exists in the netconsole component where the msg passed from the console subsystem is not guaranteed to be null-terminated. This can lead to out-of-bounds (OOB) reads when the system attempts to process the message, specifically within the netconsole write() function. This behavior was further highlighted after the transition to the NBCON console infrastructure, where KASAN (Kernel Address Sanitizer) can detect slab-out-of-bounds reads during string operations.

Recommendations Update the Linux kernel to version 6.19.0 or later.
