Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A deadlock can occur in the Linux kernel when skb may tx timestamp() acquires sock::sk callback lock within an IRQ (Interrupt Request) context. While softirq is permissible, taking this lock in a dedicated interrupt handler can lead to a system freeze if the lock is already write-locked on the same CPU. This happens because certain drivers process TX timestamps via dedicated interrupts.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
