Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the slab memory allocator where
get from any partial() may be called in an NMI (Non-Maskable Interrupt) context. This leads to an inconsistent lock state because current->mems allowed seq is a seqcount spinlock t, which is not NMI-safe. This can result in a deadlock if the read path interrupts the write-side critical section.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
