Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A race condition exists during concurrent fork operations where a newly forked task is accounted as an MMCID user before it becomes visible in the process thread list and the global task list. If preemption occurs, a subsequent
mm cid fixup tasks to cpus() call may fail to identify the task, preventing the correct allocation of a CID (Context Identifier). This can lead to a failure in acquiring a transitional CID during scheduling, resulting in a system stall.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
