Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Wine (affected versions not specified)
Description
Wine includes a .desktop file that registers the software as a MIME handler for EXE and other Windows executable file types. In certain configurations, processing an EXE file leads to its execution with the permissions of the invoker. This behavior enables the escape of Flatpak and Snap sandboxes, as MIME handlers are not designed for use by code loaders and interpreters.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
