Description
An issue in the btrfs file system can lead to a transaction abort with an EEXIST error (Object already exists) during chunk allocation. This occurs due to non-consecutive gaps in chunk allocation, which can result in overlapping
chunk maps where a stripe of one chunk overlaps in physical address with a stripe of another. This behavior has been observed during forced chunk allocation, typically associated with CONFIG BTRFS EXPERIMENTAL, but can theoretically affect any DUP chunk allocation. The abort occurs within the insert dev extents() function called by btrfs create pending block groups().Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
