Description An issue exists in the md/raid5 component where a degraded array using llbitmap can experience an IO hang. When the llbitmap bit state remains unwritten, new writes should force a read-modify-write (rcw) operation, as bitmap ops->blocks synced() is verified in handle stripe dirtying(). However, this check is missing in the need this block() function. This omission causes the stripe to enter a deadloop during processing because handle stripe() directs the flow to handle stripe fill(), while need this block() continuously returns 0, resulting in no data being handled.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
