Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Ubuntu Linux version 6.8
Ubuntu Linux version 6.17
Ubuntu Linux version 7.0
Description
AppArmor SAUCE patches contain an issue where the system incorrectly attempts to free a pointer that was not previously allocated via
kmalloc(), while simultaneously leaking allocated memory. An unprivileged local user can trigger this bug, potentially resulting in the corruption of slab metadata (the internal data structures used by the kernel to manage memory caches) and leading to resource exhaustion.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
