Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
lwext4 version 1.0.0
Description
A NULL pointer dereference occurs in the
ext4 dir en get name len() function within the include/ext4 dir.h file. This issue allows an attacker to trigger a denial of service by providing a specially crafted EXT4 filesystem image containing malformed directory entries. The flaw exists because the code fails to validate the directory entry pointer before accessing the name len field, leading to a segmentation fault during directory iteration.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
