Description A flaw exists in the PBKDF2-SHA256 password storage plugin where the system fails to enforce an upper bound on the iteration count extracted from stored password hashes. A privileged attacker with the ability to modify a user's password hash can trigger excessive CPU consumption during the authentication process, leading to a denial of service.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
