Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Flowise versions prior to 3.1.2
Description
A mass assignment issue exists in the 'PUT /api/v1/user' endpoint. This allows authenticated users to modify the
credential field without proper validation. By providing a crafted password hash, an attacker can bypass password change verification and session invalidation, enabling persistent account access following a temporary session compromise. Mass assignment occurs when an application takes user-provided data and binds it to an internal object without filtering, allowing users to modify fields they should not have access to.Recommendations
Update to version 3.1.2 or later.
As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the 'PUT /api/v1/user' endpoint or avoid using the
credential parameter until the update is applied.Fix
