Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the ocfs2 component where the ocfs2 validate gd parent() function fails to properly validate group bitmap descriptors. A malicious descriptor can specify a bg size or bg bits pair that exceeds the physical capacity of the group descriptor block. This can lead to bitmap scans and bit updates running past the bg bitmap boundary, resulting in a KASAN use-after-free condition.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
