Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The ctxfi driver in the Linux kernel contains a flaw in the audio mixer handling code. The
conf field, used as a loop index, is not properly initialized, leading to potential out-of-bounds (OOB) access when called by the amixer index() and sum index() functions. This issue was identified through fuzzing and results in a UBSAN error indicating an out-of-bounds access on an unsigned char [8] array. The root cause is the missing re-initialization of the conj field.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
