Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the btrfs module where the trace event btrfs sync file() is called within an atomic context. The function performs a call to dput(), which is required following a dget parent() call. Because dput() can sleep, it triggers a kernel splat when executed in an atomic context. This behavior can be reproduced by enabling the trace event and running specific filesystem tests.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
