Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the iwlwifi driver where the iwl mld tx from txq() function fails to check the mld->fw status.in hw restart flag before dequeuing frames from mac80211 and pushing them to the transport layer during a firmware crash. This omission creates a tight loop of dequeuing, sending, failing, and freeing frames, which consumes excessive CPU cycles and causes memory pressure due to slab fragmentation (the fragmentation of memory blocks used for kernel objects). This behavior is particularly evident under high-throughput conditions, such as active SSH sessions or UDP traffic.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
