Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
iwlwifi driver within the mvm module regarding how transmission (TX) rates are set for older devices, such as the 7265D. These devices use a version 1 format that relies on PLCP values instead of CCK/OFDM rate indices. A previous change intended to support version 3 rates caused the iwl mvm mac80211 idx to hwrate() function to return incorrect values for TX CMD rates. This discrepancy can lead to incorrect rate settings and may trigger warnings when the device reports the rates used.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
