Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the memory hotplug component where the
remove memory blocks and altmaps() function fails to release a reference to the memory block device. This occurs because find memory block() acquires a reference that is not subsequently dropped after the mem->altmap is retrieved and cleared, leading to a memory block device reference leak during the removal of memory blocks and their altmaps.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
