Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions vBulletin versions 5.x through 5.7.5 vBulletin versions 6.x through 6.2.1
Description An eval injection issue exists in the vB5 Template Runtime::runMaths() function within the template runtime. Unauthenticated remote attackers can execute arbitrary PHP code by providing crafted input through the pagenav[pagenumber] parameter via the ajax/render template route. This is possible because the regex filter is insufficiently restrictive, allowing the use of phpfuck-style encoding—a technique used to bypass filters by using alternative character representations—to inject code.
Recommendations Update vBulletin versions 5.x through 5.7.5 to a version newer than 5.7.5. Update vBulletin versions 6.x through 6.2.1 to a version newer than 6.2.1.
