Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to the igc driver and timestamping network (TSN) transmission (TX) packets. A buffer size of 7KB per queue previously caused TX unit hangs under heavy timestamping load. Reducing the buffer size to 5KB resolves these hangs and aligns with recommendations in the I225/I226 SW User Manual Section 7.5.4. The reduction is not expected to impact throughput, as the i226 is PCIe-limited for small TSN packets.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
