WordPress · Floating Social Buttons · CVE-2024-6405
**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions** Floating Social Buttons plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.5 **Description** The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the `floating social buttons option()` function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update the plugin's settings and inject malicious web scripts via a forged request. This can happen if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link. **Recommendations** For versions up to, and including, 1.5, consider disabling the `floating social buttons option()` function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's settings to minimize the risk of unauthorized updates. Avoid using the plugin until a fixed version is released. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
