Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Floating Social Buttons plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.5
Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the
floating social buttons option() function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update the plugin's settings and inject malicious web scripts via a forged request. This can happen if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.5, consider disabling the
floating social buttons option() function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's settings to minimize the risk of unauthorized updates. Avoid using the plugin until a fixed version is released. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.CSRF
