CVE-2013-6376

CVSS v2.0

5.2

Medium

VectorAV:A/AC:M/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 3.12.6
Description The issue allows guest OS users to cause a denial of service, resulting in a host OS crash, by performing a crafted ICR write operation in x2apic mode. This is due to a problem in the recalculate apic map function.
Recommendations For versions prior to 3.12.6, update to version 3.12.6 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the recalculate apic map function in the KVM subsystem to minimize the risk of exploitation.
